In its November meeting, the Panorama School Board held the first reading of a new board policy.
Superintendent Kasey Huebner says that the policy is based off of one that the state of Iowa has set in motion, and works to set in motion a plan for disciplinary action for students who make a threat of violence, or cause incidents of violence. He explains that by putting this plan into a policy, it makes what needs to be done more transparent when those situations occur.
Huebner mentions that there was a very good discussion on the item, and that a second reading will be held in the December meeting, where the policy should be adopted. Panorama is the final of the three school districts in Guthrie County to work on adopting this kind of policy.
