Last year’s freshman class have become sophomores for the AC/GC Chargers basketball teams, and are ready to step up for some extra responsibilities.
On the boys team, Joe Crawford returns for his second year, after playing in 14 games last year, shooting 25% from the field and recording 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 points. Tommy Skram is the second returner for the class of 2027, having played in 7 games and recording 1 assist and 1 steal.
For the girls, there are 6 returning for their sophomore year. Karly Kautzky played in 10 of the team’s games, recording 2 rebounds, 1 assist and 2 steals, while Savannah Akers played in 8 games, tallying 2 rebounds as well. Becca Littler came off the bench in all 23 games for the Chargers, shooting 20.5% from the field, 11.8% from beyond the arch, and 56.5% from the free throw line. She also pulled down 22 boards, dished out 24 assists, stole the ball 23 times, blocked 1 shot and recorded 31 points.
Chelsea Kopaska took the court in 4 games, while Cadence Boals played in 8 games, going 25% from the field and 50% on free throws, and recording 4 rebounds, 2 steals and 3 points. Camdyn Richter played in 20, and was able to go 35% from the field, 16.7% from the three point line, and 60% from the charity stripe. She also tallied 69 rebounds, 7 assists, 21 steals, a block and 41 points.
