Greene Co ARC receives $5,000 from Wild Rose Jefferson

Wild Rose Casino and Resort in Jefferson recently donated $10,000 to two local organizations.

The food pantry, the Greene County Action Resource Center; and Greene County New Opportunities reached $5,000 from Wild Rose Jefferson. Wild Rose Jefferson General Manager Travis Dvorak tells Raccoon Valley Radio they decided to do some additional holiday donations three years ago with the partnership the casino had with Jefferson Kiwanis. Dvorak points out New Opportunities Coordinator Teresa Lansman and ARC Manager Shirley Haupert told him about their dramatic increases in the individuals and families in need following covid, that it made sense for Wild Rose to give back to the community that has supported them.

“And I think it’s really important that if you’re doing well you need to help out others. I think charity starts at home. Holidays is a time for family and it’s a time to be happy and joyous and not worry about those other things. And if we can help out the ARC and New Opportunities and help those families I think that’s the best gift that we could ever give.”    

The donation checks were presented to both organizations on Wednesday.
