An important date for those wanting to show beef at the Adair County Fair or Iowa State Fair is on the calendar.
Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Office Assistant Katrina Schulteis says that while the date for Adair County 4-H and FFA members to weigh their cattle isn’t until December 28th, they still need to be cognizant of it. She tells Raccoon Valley Radio why they need to remember that date.
“You do need to bring in those cattle to be weighed, and if you can’t make it at our county weigh in, then we do have to get you signed up at another county location. And so we want to make sure that we get everybody in who wants to participate in the County and State Fair.”
Schulteis mentions that if members can’t make it to the Adair County beef weigh in, they can go to another county and do the weigh in there, and will still be able to participate in the fairs, but that they must let the Adair County Extension know, so that they can help them find a weigh in that will work for them, and get in contact with that county’s Extension to get them registered.
