The Perry School Board approved the resignation of Perry activities director Katelyn Whelchel on Monday. Whelchel was hired in 2022 to be the next activities director for Perry High School. The move comes as a shock as it takes place right before the start of winter sports season. Whelchel has been the volleyball coach for Perry the last couple of seasons. She was a big part of the Perry community as she graduated from Perry in 2015. She also spent time in the district as a kindergarten and third grade teacher.
