The Perry School Board met Monday in regular session.
The Board approved several second readings of board policies, including required professional development for employees, employee physical examinations, and employee injury on the job as presented. They also approved several first readings of policies, including discipline of students who make threats of violence or cause incidents of violence, drug and alcohol testing written consent, and the purchasing, bidding, suspension and debarment of vendors and contractors procedures. The Board approved an update to the child abuse reporting policy as presented.
They also approved an out of state travel request for the high school history class to go to Washington, DC next June and conduct a custom t-shirt and bake sale fundraisers as well.
Additionally, the Board approved the members of the School Improvement Advisory Committee (SIAC), as well as the SIAC recommended annual improvement goals, a Lifetouch service agreement for 2024-26, and bus specifications to purchase a new bus. The Board approved four middle school teachers to use the Middle School Computer Science Incentive Fund. Finally, the Board also approved the resignation of the Activities Director Katelyn Whelchel.
