Greene County begins the high school girls’ basketball season with one returning starter, several other players with varsity experience, and one or more transfer students that could contribute. Head coach Tori Ogden is in her third season at the helm of a program that has had just two winning seasons in the past decade. The Rams won three games in Ogden’s first season and one game last season.

Media Day on Thursday saw 18 girls out for the sport in grades 9-12, including eight letter winners from last season when the Rams went 1-21 after losing their first 20 games. Coach Ogden told Raccoon Valley Radio the program is more hers now that she’s in  year three and quite a few girls have played varsity basketball for one or more seasons.

The Rams open the season on Nov. 21 in Woodward for a girls’ JV/varsity doubleheader vs. Woodward-Granger. The varsity game will be broadcast on KG98 and streamed on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
