Now that we are through one election, the Perry Chamber is gearing up for another one.
Perry Chamber Director Lynsi Pasutti says there are three open seats on the Chamber Board and they initially received 36 nominations and one commitment for renewal. Eventually, that number dwindled down to nine people that accepted the nomination and followed up with an application. She talks about one of the main reasons the nomination field gets cut down so much.
“So unfortunately those people that come to mind are usually very active in other things in the community, they’re already volunteering somewhere else. And so it’s always nice to have more nominations than we need because inevitably there’s more that say, ‘Not this year, this isn’t going to work out for me right now. But keep me in mind for future years.’”
Pasutti adds the Annual Director Election Meeting on November 20th is when the Chamber membership votes on the nine nominees for the open seats to serve a three year term on the board.
