Dallas Center – Grimes girls basketball will be gearing up for the season starting today with their first official practice of the season.
The Mustangs are coming off of a state championship from a season ago, as they were able to put up a win in the final 57-50 from a year ago over the North Polk Comets. DCG is coming off of a wonderful 23-3 record from a season ago, with only one loss against 4A competition.
The Mustangs will be projected to return three different starters and many different key rotation players, but will be losing their two top scorers in Emma Miner and Finley Fitzgerald, with both players having major four year contributions to the program.
The Mustang girls are under the direction of coach Adam Jones, whose teams continue to execute at high levels as both ends of the floor year in and year out.
The team will be playing in a pair of scrimmages in the preseason before they gear up in their first regular season contest on Friday, November 17th in a matchup against the Ballard Bombers.
