An initiative that Greene County has been a part of before will once again return next week.

In honor of Veterans Day, the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veteran Service Officers are declaring November 6th-12th as “Operation Green Light.” Counties across Iowa are encouraged to light up their county buildings with the color green to “shine a light” on the issues and challenges veterans continue to face as they make their transition from military service to civilian life.

In support of this initiative, Greene County Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins confirms that the Greene County Courthouse and the Mahanay Memorial Carillon Tower will be lit with green lights the entire week.
