The Guthrie Center School Board met in a special session Wednesday night.
Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Superintendent Josh Rasmussen says that they discussed what some long-term capital projects might look like, and the district certified enrollment. He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that the big item that was acted upon was accepting a bid for the High School HVAC project.
“We rejected a bid of over $739,000 earlier in June, and we went ahead and rebid it. And we opened up those bids on October 30th, and we had a bid of $550,000 that was accepted from Cameron Mechanicals. So the Board accepted those bids and went ahead, and we’re going to get going with that project here in the spring, in May, June of next year.”
The Board also approved to hire Sarah Sheeder as the assistant girls basketball coach, and discussed the upcoming school elections, and Iowa Association of School Boards pre-convention workshops and annual convention.
