The ADM Tigers boys’ cross country team recently ran in the state meet, securing a respectable 13th-place finish. The team’s overall performance reflects their hard work and dedication.

Throughout the race, Torin Timmerman led the ADM Tigers, holding a strong position for a majority of the race. However, it was Shay Holdmeyer who grabbed the spotlight in the final stretch, overtaking a teammate to finish in 58th place. As Holdmeyer was the Tigers 2nd guy throughout the season, Shay had this to say about reaching his goal that he made throughout the season, “we’re trying to just work as a team and then try and finish this together as tight as pack as we can. I’ve been the second man all year so trying to pull in front of the first man was big goal of mine and just try to run my best race of the year.” ADM has the usual strategy of sticking together as a pack which helped Shay’s race strategy, which involved “Really trying to get off the line fast and that first mile coming through quick was a huge going and holding on that second Mile and pushing up third mile to try to finish and kicking all the way at the end. Also stating that his execution went well.

The top three runners for the ADM Tigers placed 58th, 61st, and 63rd (Hunter Landphair), showing consistency. Their performances contributed  to the team’s overall standings.

Other ADM runners, including Robbie Hall, Isaac Chapman, Sam Peter, and Max Marple, also gave it their all, finishing in the 90th, 96th, 124th, and 132nd positions. This demonstrated the depth of talent within the team’s roster.

Live updates on the race progress were available on Raccoon Valley Radio’s social media account, allowing supporters to follow the competition and stay informed about the team’s performance.
