An annual community service event is coming back to Jefferson next month.

The Mobile Hunger Fight returns to Wild Rose Casino and Resort on November 8th from 6-8pm where volunteers will participate in Meals from the Heartland. Home State Bank Marketing and Communication Director Jackie Cunningham says they are teaming up with Wild Rose for a fourth time and are bringing aboard the Greene County Medical Center as well.

Cunningham points out Home State Bank started this initiative in Greene County in 2020 as a way to get community members involved in something that was meaningful and appealing to anyone of any age. She notes that they started packing 30,000 meals in two hours at the start and are now up to 40,000 meals in the same two hours. The medical center is not only allowing employees to volunteer, they also supply Mobile Hunger Fight t-shirts for registrants. She adds they received an award last year for surpassing 100,000 packed meals for under privileged individuals around the world.

There are still spots remaining for the early registration deadline of tomorrow to guarantee a free t-shirt, otherwise the final deadline to sign up is November 3rd. Click here to sign up.
