The Dallas County Sheriff’s Benevolent Association will gather vehicles and cruise for a good benefit.

The first ever “Cruising for a Cause,” will take place at 1pm on Saturday with the line up at 12:30pm at the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office in Adel. Sergeant Ray Dirksen says that they are welcoming all vehicles from all make and models. Dirksen says once all the vehicles are lined up, they will get a police escort in a parade style around retirement communities in Perry and Dallas Center.  He tells Raccoon Valley Radio that this event will help them raise money for their Shop with a Cop and Food Basket programs.

“Shop with the cop and these food baskets. They’re a great opportunity to give back to our local communities. However, it does come at a cost and we’re just trying to help close that cost to benefit these. The shop with the cop and food baskets.”

Dirksen says that there is no registration needed for this event, but they will ask for a free will donation. The cruise will last from one to two hours. For more information use the link here.
