The Friends of the Perry Public Library will have a retirement reception for a long serving  librarian this week. 

The Perry Public Library will wish Library Director Mary Murphy a happy retirement and thank her for years of dedication to the community from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm on Friday, October 27 in the Library Community Room. Adult Services Librarian Mindy Farmer says they want people to drop by and be a part of wishing her well.  

“So I think many people think of the Perry Public Library and they think of Mary. She has been the director here for quite some time, and it’s time for her to retire. And so we’re sad to see her go and also really excited for her new opportunities. And we want to wish her well.”

The reception is free and open to the public.
