Last Thursday the AC/GC Charger cross country teams made the short trip to Panora for the state qualifying meet.
According to head coach Colin Shawgo, both teams ended up taking first place overall. According to results reporting site Bound, the boys team recorded 26 points, while the girls team tallied 80 points. Shawgo tells Raccoon Valley Radio that three boys and one girl qualified for the state meet individually, meaning that Andrew Mahaffey, Gavin Sloss, Noah Kading and Ava Campbell will all be making their way to the state meet this Friday.
Mahaffey came in second place with a time of 16 minutes 53 seconds, while Sloss came in third with a time of 17 minutes 32.3 seconds, and Kading finished 5th with a time of 17 minutes 54.9 seconds. Campbell finished fifth with a time of 20 minutes 9.6 seconds.
