A local organization in Greene County recently sponsored a trip for kids to the Blank Park Zoo in Des Moines.

Beta Tau Delta treated 100 first graders from both the Greene County and Paton-Churdan elementaries at the zoo. This annual trip allowed students to individually feed the giraffes, tour the entire zoo, enjoy a hot lunch and train rides, while also receiving zoo keepsakes. Home State Bank also donated water for the students.

Beta Tau Delta has been sponsoring this trip for over a decade, due to the school budget no longer allowing kids to go on field trips. The organization is always accepting donations, made payable to Beta Tau Delta ℅ Anita Van Horn at 102 East State Street in Jefferson.
