The Adair – Casey and Guthrie Center School Boards will each have a Revenue Purpose Statement (RPS) on the ballot for the local elections in November.

The RPS are revenues that each district will receive from the State of Iowa Secure an Advanced Vision for Education (SAVE) Fund. These will be used to provide funds to acquire or install information technology infrastructure, build and furnish new school building(s), purchase, lease or lease-purchase buildings and equipment.

The RPS will also provide funds to purchase land as part of start-up costs, make payments to a municipality, demolition, cleanup and other costs as necessary, establish and maintain public recreation places, payment of principal interest, provide tax relief, and provide funds for other authorized expenses.

Should this proposition fail, the current authority will continue, and if it’s approved, it will continue until replaced or amended. Adair – Casey / Guthrie Center Superintendent Josh Rasmussen expresses that the RPS will in no way affect property taxes.
