In preparation for their upcoming game against the North Polk Comets, the ADM Tigers took a step back this week and focused on their performance after a loss last week. Coach Randy Schrader highlighted the team took time and commitment to learning from their mistakes and making the necessary adjustments.
Coach Schrader stated, “if you don’t fix mistakes they just compound.”
This matchup against the Comets carries some familiarity. As coach Schrader mentions that the two teams are mirrors of each other, mainly offensively. “Both of us are going to do basically the same thing,” he explained. Acknowledging their strength, saying, “They’ve got good players and a good coaching staff. It’s a growing community with a strong football tradition.”
Last year, the Tigers and the Comets engaged in a high-scoring game, with both teams struggling to stop each other. The Tigers ended up winning, but Coach Schrader expects a similar game tonight, with the Comets using last years loss as motivation.
Both teams have had a successful season so far, 3-1 records in the district. Their battle for the top district spot will be tonight, as it will earn them a bye week in the playoffs and a spot in the state playoffs.
