The West Central Valley School Board met in regular session Wednesday night.
The Board approved resignations and contract recommendations, open enrollment requests, and discussed certified enrollment numbers, which Superintendent Rusty Shockley said came out to be 934.8. They also approved to pay officials for events from the general fund, a bid by Short’s Lawn Care to perform snow removal for the Dexter Elementary building and middle school building in Redfield, and the bid by Schwinger Lawn Service to perform snow removal at the high school and Stuart Elementary buildings. The Board also decided to have Shockley look into a quote for using sealant on new concrete that was being used in repairs to the parking lot at the high school, so that Schwinger Lawn Services could use rock salt.
The Board then heard a presentation on renewal for the HVAC contract, and approved a board policy for discipline of students who make threats of violence or cause incidents of violence, and a resolution to transfer funds from the general account to the flexibility account, before entering into a closed session to discuss the recommended expulsion of a student.
