The West Central Valley Wildcats fell on the volleyball court last night in the first round of the Class 2A Region 4 bracket against their conference rival Panorama. The Wildcats put a good fight but fell just a little short, losing 3-2. Panorama got off to an early 1-0 set lead as they took the first set by a score of 25-15. West Central Valley answered, winning their next two sets 25-14 and 25-17 to take a 2-1 lead. The Wildcats tried to close things out in the 4th set, however Panorama was able to sneak it out, forcing a tiebreaker in the 5th set. That is when Panorama took control and sealed the deal in the tie breaking set winning 15-12.
The loss puts an end to a season for West Central Valley that was definitely a learning experience for a young team on the volleyball court. They finish with an overall record of 7-28. They will look to take positives away from this season going forward as the team returns a lot of its starters going into next year. I will continue to provide updates for the volleyball team as they make their way through the offseason right here on K 107.9 and on raccoonvalleyradio.com.
