The Raccoon River Valley Trail (RRVT) will no longer require the purchase of a permit in order to utilize the trail.

According to the Dallas County Conservation Board, this change is supposed to eliminate barriers to access, align policy with other trails in the area and reduce confused people arriving on the RRVT from connected trails. For large trail events a special trail event permit is still required. 

People are asked to contact their specific county conservation board involved for more information about that process. Annual trail permits have been a popular holiday gift for cyclists in the past. If you would like to continue in a similar tradition then a donation should be considered to a local county trail.
