Friday, October 13th

2:16am: An Employee for Sparky’s One Stop reported a female on the property who was not a customer and refusing to leave. The Officer spoke with the female. After this the female left the property.

7:43am: While on patrol, an Officer noticed a male he knew to have an active Greene County Arrest Warrants. The Officer made contact with the male. As a result of the investigation, Christopher Quirk was placed under arrest for the warrants. The warrants were for the original charges of 2 counts of “Forgery – D Felony”, Theft in the 3rd Degree against Older Individuals”, and “Identity Theft”

8:30am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with an inmate at the Greene County Jail having a medical issue. The Officer assisted as requested.

10:15am: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 1000 block of Westwood Drive. As a result of the traffic stop, Dane Pedersen was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”.

11:52am: The Greene County High School reported the smell of what was believed to be marijuana coming from one of the restrooms. An Officer responded and investigated. No marijuana was located.

12:32pm: An Officer was dispatched to the 1000 block of East Russell Street for two stray dogs running loose. While attempting to catch the dogs, one was aggressive. While attempting to bring the animals to the animal holding facility, the same dog was continually trying to bite those around it. The owners were contacted and would not come to take possession of the two animals. A third party was eventually found who could handle the dog. As a result of the situation. One of the two was deemed to be vicious and removed from the City Limits by its owners, Alicia Hawkins and Royce Gonnelly. Alicia Hawkins was issued citations for “Violation of Annual Animal License Requirement”, “Tag not secured to animal – 2 counts”, “Animals Running at Large – 2 counts”.

4:13pm: Sara Miller reported a two-vehicle accident having occurred at the intersection of 220th Street and North Elm Street, no one was reported to have been injured due to the accident. As a result of the accident, Viatcheslav Zakjevskii was placed under arrest and charged with “Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense-Serious Misdemeanor”, “Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability-Simple Misdemeanor”, and “Failure to Obey Stop Sign and Yield Right of Way-Simple Misdemeanor”. Sara Miller was charged with “Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability-Simple Misdemeanor”.

7:15pm:: Kristina Green reported a guest at a residence in the 700 block of West Harrison Street who was refusing to leave. The Officer responded to the residence and helped to mediate the situation.

Saturday, October 14th

1:03am: While on patrol an Officer located an unsecured business door in the 1500 block of North Mulberry Street. The Officer checked the property and secured the door.

8:22am: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Elm Street and Russell Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Kane Borgeson was issued a citation for “Dark Window / Windshield”

11:14am: Sharon Magee reported a two-vehicle accident having occurred in the parking lot for 102 South Grimmell Road. An Officer responded and found a white “2013” Toyota Tacoma was legally parked and sitting stationary occupied by 1 subject. A Gray “2016” Jeep Patriot operated by Jessica Collins made way into a parking space on the passenger side of the Tacoma and struck the rear passenger side corner of the Tacoma in the process. Approximately $1500 in damage was caused to both vehicles. As a result of the investigation, Jessica Collins was placed under arrest and charged with “Operating While Intoxicated 1st Offense-Serious Misdemeanor”.

2:12pm: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance with an inmate having a medical issue in the Greene County Jail. The Officer assisted as requested.

6:38pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 600 block of North Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Juan Valadez De Anda was issued a citation for “Excessive Speed”

8:40pm: Arlene Johnson reported someone knocking loudly at her door in the 300 block of East Vest Street. The Officer responded and did not find those involved.

9:08pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Elm Street and Lincoln Way. As a result of the traffic stop, Dawson Echelberger was issued a citation for “Careless Driving”

11:21pm: An Officer was dispatched to HyVee Fast and Fresh for an alarm activation. The Officer found the property was secure and the alarm was accidental.

Sunday, October 15th

2:22pm: Caitlin Pettit reported a smell of what was believed to be marijuana in the 1300 block of Ferguson Circle. The Officer could not determine the source of the smell.

4:10pm: Josh Hinote reported a white dog having been running loose often in the 800 block of West Madison Street. The Officer investigated and found the dog’s owner had been visiting someone in Jefferson. The Officer found the Owner / Dog where no longer in Jefferson.

4:38pm: While on patrol an Officer located a vehicle disabled at the intersection of North Maple Street and West Head Street. As a result of the investigation, Maynor Alexi Carballo-Aguilar was issued a citation for “No Valid Driver’s License”. The disabled vehicle was towed from the scene.

7:09pm: Janie Scheuermann reported a suspected burglary at the Can Redemption Center, 222 East Lincoln Way. The Officer is investigating.
