Greene County was in the Winterset volleyball tournament on Saturday to end the regular season. Coach Chris Heisterkamp’s Rams went 1-2 in matches and 3-4 in sets. In the process, the Rams clinched a winning season for the third straight year, and they’ll enter Class 3A regional tournament play on Oct. 17 in Van Meter against the host Bulldogs with a 15-12 season record.

The Rams lost to Red Oak 14-21. 16-21, fell to Winterset 13-21, 21-16, 13-15, and won against Webster City 21-17, 21-15. Coach Heisterkamp reports Graci Cooklin led the tam in digs with 25 and Emma Ewalt added 12 digs. In kills, Kaylee Stalder had 17 with 15 from Payton Kokenge, 12 by Emma Shipley, and seven for Lila Osterson.The Rams were 115 of 120 from the serving line for 96% accuracy.

The Rockes are 0-13 in matches and 0-27 in sets after dropping its two matches on Saturday in Coon Rapids at the Rolling Valley Activities Conference Tournament. The losses were to Ar-We-Va (Westdie) 19-21, 10-21, and by identical 8-21, 8-21 scores to West Harrison (Mondamin).The Rocket play in 1A regional action in Colo on MOnday vs. Colo-Nesco.
