The West Central Valley Wildcats will hit the gridiron tonight for their final regular season game of the year as they will face conference rival Woodward-Granger on the road at Hawk Stadium in Woodward. Boy are there major implications in rewards to state in this matchup for both teams. The Wildcats are currently a half game back of Woodward-Granger in the Class 1A standings in the West Central Conference in district play. West Central Valley sits at 3-2 in district play while Woodward-Granger is 3-1. So a win here will be huge for West Central Valley as they try to make their case for the state tournament. The Wildcats are coming off their big 38-32 win on senior night at West Central Valley High School last week.
On the other side, Woodward-Granger is coming in hungry after their 50-0 loss on the road in South Hamilton last week. Senior RB Oliver Potter is one guy for the Hawks that West Central Valley will need to contain out of the backfield if they want to have a chance in this game. He has been the engine for Woodward-Granger in the run game all season long with 103 carries for 943 yards. He is also averaging 9.2 yards per carry.
