The ADM Tigers are facing some unique challenges this season. As they head to Indianola tonight. What truly stands out is the remarkable mental and physical toughness displayed by the Tigers. The coaches and athlete’s. This season, the team has had its fair share of injuries, with Coach Randy Schrader noting, “you’re losing one here and there… but not like this; this has been a domino effect almost one goes, all goes.” In all his years of coaching, Coach Schrader has never had a team that was affected by injuries this extent.

Coach Schrader acknowledges that to win championships, it’s essential to have healthy athletes. “In order to win a championship, the wrong guys can’t get hurt, man. We’ve had guys get banged up that nothing you can do about, like bones, you know, but the soft tissue injuries, you’d like to take care of. But I’ve never had a season like this when it comes to good players being hurt.”

Despite the injury challenge, the Tigers have managed to maintain an impressive 6-1 overall record and secure a top position in their district. Coach Schrader credits this success to the aggressiveness of the coaching staff and the defense, saying, “Stand back and take a look at what our coaches have been able to coach up, and what our kids have responded to—it’s been impressive.” He highlights the increased aggression and improved defensive performance, as the team comes from attacking and pursuing the football.

Furthermore, Coach Schrader commends the positive attitude and championship mentality of the players and coaches. Instead of dwelling on the injuries, they have maintained a “let’s go play” mentality, which has contributed to their success. This determination and adaptability have allowed the Tigers to overcome this challenge and continue to perform at a high level, even in the face of challenging circumstances.
