The US government is supporting a long time international partner after they were attacked earlier this week.
US Senator Chuck Grassley has formally condemned the attacks by Hamas against Israel and he says the US is doing several things that indirectly supports Israel. He talks about another resource the federal government is doing to help their long time ally.
“We’re standing firmly behind them, we’re telling the whole world we’re doing it. And we’re backing it up by sending military equipment, if it’s needed, to that area. And they’re arriving from the western Mediterranean, from the Persian Gulf area, through the Red Sea, to that part of the Mediterranean, close to Israel. And hopefully none of that has to be used, but it’s there if it does have to be used.”
Grassley adds that once a new House Speaker is chosen and the Senate is back in session, he expects Congress to provide more resources to Israel. The White House released remarks that President Joe Biden made about the attacks calling them a “human tragedy” and saying that the attacks by Hamas is terrorism. Additionally, Ukraine is still receiving resources from the US government in its war against Russia.
