The Dallas Center-Grimes girls varsity basketball schedule has been released and they will look to defend last year’s state title.

Coach Adam Jones’ team won the Little Hawkeye Conference and the class 4a state tournament with a 23-3 record. They will lose two first team all conference players in Emma Miner and Finely Fitzgerald, but they will have plenty of senior leadership returning including Vanessa Bickford and Aubrey Johansen. They will start their season with two scrimmages which includes at Ankeny Centennial on November 11th and home against Southeast Polk on November 13th.

Their season will officially kick off on the road against the Ballard Bombers on November 17th. The Mustangs played Ballard in the semi finals in the 2022 state tournament. On November 21st, the Mustangs will travel to Alleman to have a rematch of the state championship game against North Polk. The Mustang’s first home game will be against Adel-DeSoto-Minburn on November 28th. They will play 11 home and 10 road games, not counting the tournaments.

The regional tournament will start on February 14th and the state tournament will begin on the 27th. Raccoon Valley Radio sports will preview the boys basketball schedule in a later sports article.
