It was a big night for both Lilly Myers and Yonas Andemichael on Tuesday as they each took 1st and 2nd place respectively in each race in the Heart of Iowa Conference XC meet at Greene County Middle School. Lilly Myers won the girls race, finishing in 1st place in the conference meet, with a time of 20:19:71. Yonas Andemichael finished in 2nd with a time of 17:20:68. Congratulations to both runners on a stellar race in the conference meet. They both will turn their attention to the state qualifying meet for 3A this upcoming Wednesday, October 18th. That will be hosted by Pella at the Pella Sports Park.
I peaked at where the top Perry runners stack up currently going into the meet. Yonas Andemichael is currently projected 20th in the meet with his top time of 17:12:60. Thad Stewart is below at 58 with his time of 18:39:33 as well. For the girls, Lilly Myers is currently projected at 14 with her top time of 20:19:71. Taryn Nehring is below at 44 with a time 22:05:60. Again these are just projections based off personal best times throughout the season. These projections can be found at www.goboundcom. I will provide updates as we get closer to the meet on state qualifying times right here on KDLS and on our website at raccoonvalleyradio.com.
