
Monday, October 9th
1:43am: An Officer was dispatched to the Hy Vee Gas Station for an alarm activation. The Officer found the alarm had been false.
2:40am: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of East Clark Street and North Chestnut Street. During the traffic stop, several suspected narcotics related items were collected into evidence. The Officer is investigating.
8:03am: While on patrol an Officer located a stray dog running loose near the intersection of South Elm Street and West Harrison Street. The Officer caught the white Husky and took it to the Jefferson City Pound.
8:33am: Amber Davis requested assistance with an unruly child who did not want to go to school. The Officer assisted in getting the child to school.
9:56am: Cheryl Hurdel reported issues with the flow of traffic near North Elm Street and 220th Street. The issues were DOT to the road construction in the area and the Officer advised the Iowa DOT of the concerns.
12:07pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of North Elm Street and West Monroe Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Madeline Delzell was issued a citation for “Operating a Non-Registered Vehicle”
12:09pm: Hannah Hunter reported a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed in the 2100 block of North Mulberry Avenue. The Officer patrolled the area and found no vehicles violating the law.
1:15pm: Michael Brody of Minnesota reported an online fraud involving persons representing themselves as the now closed Harrison RV dealership in Jefferson. Michael advised he did not incur a loss due to the fraud. He wanted Law Enforcement to be aware of the issue.
3:58pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of Edgewood Avenue and North Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Matthew Parmer was issued a citation for “Dark Window / Windshield”
4:10pm: Megan Ball – Waters reported a two vehicle, property damage accident at the intersection of North Vine Street and West Washington Street. The Officer investigated the scene and found a white “1997” Dodge Ram operated by Ethan Coil was southbound on North Vine Street approaching West Washington Street approaching a posted stop sign. Coil stopped at the stop sign and proceeded through the intersection not seeing the silver “2020” Chrysler Pacifica operated by Kimberly West coming from the west and struck the vehicle broadside. Coil advised he was observing a text message while driving before the collision occurred. The damage to the Ram was estimated at $500. The damage to the Pacifica was estimated at $15,000. Ethan Coil was issued citations for “Fail to Yield Upon Entering Through Highway” and “Use of Electronic Communication Device While Driving”.
5:47pm: Kirsten Horak requested a welfare check on a female in the 400 block of West Lincoln Way. The Officer checked on the female and found she did not need assistance. Kirsten was advised of this.
7:10pm: Shelby Wiggins reported a child running in the roadway near the intersection of West Madison Street and South Elm Street. The Officer checked the reported area and found no one in the roadway.
9:29pm: An Officer was dispatched to 102 South Pinet Street for an “SOS” vehicle alarm activation. The Officer located the vehicle and spoke with the owner. The Officer was told the alarm was accidental.
10:20pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop near the intersection of North Elm Street and 220th Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Dennis Becker was issued a citation for “Fail to Obey Stop or Yield Sign”
Tuesday, October 10th
1:57am: An Officer assisted the Greene County Ambulance Crew with a medical call in the 700 block of South Grimmell Road.
2:39am: An Officer was dispatched to the Hy Vee Gas Station for an alarm activation. The Officer found the alarm was false.
4:26am: Tyler Rysavy reported a possible underage person drinking alcohol at a residence in the 500 block of North Oak Street. The Officer checked the area and located nothing illegal occurring.
11:28am: While on patrol an Officer located a tire in the roadway near the intersection of Neola Avenue and 250th Street. The Officer removed the tire.
11:52am: Kenneth Molle reported a person who had been using his debit card without his permission. The Officer is investigating.
2:51pm: Melinda Gallagher reported having found an old shotgun while cleaning out a residence in the 500 block of South Vine Street. The gun was turned into an Officer to be sent in to be destroyed.
3:48pm: Jessica Duong Harrington reported ongoing issues involving her daughter. The Officer found the incidents were already being investigated by the Department of Human Services.
6:07pm: Dawna Helms reported a civil dispute over a vehicle she had sold. Dawna was told she would need to speak with a civil law attorney.
6:44pm: An Officer performed a traffic stop in the 1000 block of North Elm Street. As a result of the traffic stop, Timothy Oboye was issued citations for “Driving While License Suspended” and “Failure to Provide Proof of Financial Liability”
7:27pm: Shannon Otterson reported an assault having occurred in the 800 block of West Washington Street. As a result of the investigation, Nathan Hubbs was placed under arrest for Domestic Abuse Assault, 1st Offense – Impeding Airway.
