The Dallas County Treasurer Mitch Hambleton resigned during the Board of Supervisors meeting on Tuesday.
In an open forum, Hambleton announced that he will no longer be the Dallas County Treasurer effective on November 7th.
Hambleton said that Board of Supervisor Chair Kim Chapman made slanderous statements about him during a previous meeting that he was not in attendance due to a family member’s illness. Hambleton alleged that Chapman made comments about him overworking his employees and not doing his job effectively which led to his eventual resignation. The Dallas County Board of Supervisors did not comment or take any action on the matter.
The Board then approved the Law Enforcement Center’s request to repair all the existing canopies on the building along with adding an additional canopy to the west side of the building. They also approved the final plat of Longobardi subdivision and the final plat of Crouse Brothers that is divided up within a family. Both plats are located near Granger on 210 Street. They approved the right of way agreement to have culverts replaced on 187th Street for $144 each and they approved the Crisis Intervention’s sign placement on the southeast portion on the courthouse’s lawn for the month of October.
