Janet Kundrat was an all-around athlete in volleyball, basketball, and softball, when she graduated from Jefferson High School in 1980. She pursued basketball in college, and after a brief stay at the Air Force Academy, she played at Waldorf College (a two-year school at the time) in Forest City before playing on the Division I level in Omaha at Creighton University.

Now Janet Kundrat O’Neill, she was inducted into the Waldorf University Athletic Hall of Fame last weekend. Her accomplishments included earning All-American and All-Conference honors on the court, participating in the 1982 national junior college All-Star game, as well as being on the academic Dean’s List, and she held leadership roles in various campus organizations. The Warriors were 46-12 during her two seasons at Waldorf, which included back-to-back trips to the National Tournament. She averaged more than 14 points a game in her Waldorf career, and was first team All-Conference and First Team All-Region XI as a sophomore. On the national level, she earned Honorable Mention recognition for both the NJCAA All-Tournament Team and NJCAA All-America Team.

Also inducted were Pacer Chad Wilson for baseball and Kristle Wolcott for softball.
