Both the Perry boys and girls cross country teams participated in the Saydel Cross Country Invitational this past Thursday night at Saydel High School. The girls took 4th overall while the boys took 7th. For the girls, Lilly Myers came in 7th overall in the race as she finished her 5k in a time of 20:56:10. Taryn Nehring was very close to Myers in the race as she was the next Jayette to finish. She finished her race in a time of 22:05:60.

On the boys side of things, Yonas Andemichael took 8th overall in his race and he finished with a time of 17:16:30. Maeble Tekle was the second Bluejay across the finish line as he came across in 18:58:50. Thad Stewart was right behind Tekle as he finished with a time of 18:59:70 as well.

Both teams will be back in action on Monday in the Heart of Iowa Athletic Conference Meet at Greene County Middle School. Races will begin around 5 PM on Monday. I will keep you informed on results like usual after the meet right here on KDLS and raccoonvalleyradio.com.
