Tomorrow will be an anniversary that few people in Greene County may know about.
The sport of football first began at Jefferson High School 125 years ago tomorrow, with their first opponent against Glidden on October 8, 1898. The winner was Glidden 17-0. The Jefferson football team played five games that first year and ended the season with one win, two losses, and two ties. Jefferson High School earned its only victory that year against Coon Rapids on November 11th by a score of 11-0.
