Dallas Center-Grimes football team will be looking for a three game winning streak when they take on the Glenwood Rams tonight on the road.
In the last two weeks the Mustangs have beaten Council Bluffs Thomas Jefferson (35-0) and Norwalk (17-7). With the latest Iowa High School Football RPI Rankings released, Dallas Center-Grimes is currently 15th with a (3-3) record and they will have to face Glenwood who is number nine on the list with a (4-2) record. The Rams have quality wins over Winterset, Denison-Schleswig. Offensively they are led by Kayden Anderson who is a dual threat senior quarterback and defensively they cause havoc for their opponents. Dallas Center-Grimes Head Football Coach Scott Heitland says the Rams are an impressive team.
“They’re really solid at the skill positions, but I’ve been impressed with how big and physical they are up front. They’ve got a couple guys, that boy, they look really impressive on film and those kinds of guys usually look even more impressive when you see them in person. And so that’s going to be the biggest challenge for us is can we match the physicality that we think they’re going to play with on the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball?”
The Mustangs starting running back Eli Carpenter has rushed for over 100 yards in his last four games. Heitland feels confident about his ground attack.
“Some of the improvements we’ve seen offensively over the last few weeks with our run game and what Eli has done. I’m confident that we’re going to go over there with a great game plan and it’s a district game.”
Mustangs are (2-0) in district play while the Rams are (1-1). For those who cannot make the trip to Glenwood you can listen live on our mobile stream at KDLS-2 which will be linked here.
