Anyone wanting to attend a military academy still has time to apply with Iowa’s Third Congressional District Representative.
Congressman Zach Nunn is accepting applications for nominations to a US Military Service Academy, which is a requirement to attend the US Military, Naval, Air Force and Merchant Marine Academies. The US Coast Guard Academy doesn’t require a congressional nomination.
Interested applicants must be a US citizen, between the ages of 17 and 23, reside in Iowa’s Third Congressional District, meet the medical, physical and academic requirements of the Academy, have no dependents and be of good moral character. Those who do receive a nomination and attend an academy are obligated to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduating, and current enlisted members are also eligible to apply.
The deadline to submit an application is October 20th, and those interested can do so by visiting Zac Nunn’s website Nunn.House.Gov/ServiceAcademy.
