The Perry Bluejays fell to 1-5 on the gridiron with a 49-7 loss to the Harlan Community Cyclones on Friday night. Perry fell behind 14-0 early after a touchdown pass from quarterback Will Arkfeld as he found his reciever Brehden Eggerss who had broken loose from a couple of Bluejay defenders. A pick six then helped the Cyclones build their 14-0 lead. Harlan led 28-0 at halftime. Perry would score late in the game to avoid the shutout as quarterback Drake Levan took it in the end zone himself on the quarterback keeper.

It was a tough night for the Bluejays, facing the two time defending state champions for 3A, but they showed positives that they can take into the rest of their games moving forward. They will be on the road against Atlantic next Friday night as they look to snap their 5 game losing streak. Kickoff will be at 7 PM this upcoming Friday night.
