The Greene County Development Corporation held its annual meeting this past Tuesday.
The meeting started with the membership board approving board members for a three year term to expire in 2026, including two new members with Tom Wind and Jefferson Syngenta Plant Manager Dennis Smidt. The other board members that were approved were renewing their membership, including Chad Stevens, Chris Conner, Jamie Daubendiek, Lori Mannel, Mark Bauer, Norm Fandel, Rick Morain, Sid Jones, and Tina Beaman. Then the Board approved its full membership of 31 people.
Next, GCDC Board approved the treasurer’s report and annual minutes from 2022. GCDC ended 2022 with a positive $25,198 as its net income/loss comparison and its total special project fund ended last year with $89,351.
Finally, GCDC Executive Director Ken Paxton talked about the upcoming Annual Event on Monday, October 2nd at the Greene Room Events Center at Wild Rose in Jefferson. He said the speakers include Kading Properties CEO Karie Ramsey, Jefferson City Administrator Scott Peterson, Chuck Offenburger and about a dozen new businesses will also get time to speak. The event is open to the public as it starts with a social time at 6pm, followed by the program at 6:30pm.
