In their recent meeting, the West Central Valley School Board approved allowable growth for the special education deficit.
Superintendent Rusty Shockley says that the Board approved the allowable growth request to the School Budget Review Committee, and usually does so every year. He mentions that this allows them to tax back for the deficit, and get back to square one to continue to provide for the students that need the extra help. West Central Valley’s 2022-23 special education deficit was $402,585.21.
