Next week is set to be a big and fun one for 4-H members.

Adair County Iowa State University Extension and Outreach Youth Coordinator Caroline Savage tells Raccoon Valley Radio that October 1st through the 7th is National 4-H Week.

“We do have several activities that we will be doing, so follow our Facebook page and go along with those, and there’s a chance for some prizes and even a pizza party for the winning club that has the most participation. So we encourage everybody to participate in that.”

Savage mentions that Sunday is “Share What You Love Most About 4-H, and that members should email the things they love about the organization to her at csavage@iastate.edu or share on social media. She adds Monday is a coloring contest, and that 4-H’ers can find the pictures they are supposed to color on the Extension’s website and Facebook page, and that Tuesday will have a 4-H trivia question.

Savage explains that Wednesday will be a scavenger hunt, with Thursday being a day for 4-H members and alumni to wear their 4-H gear or anything that has 4-H on it. On Friday, 4-H’ers are asked to share a photo of why they love 4-H, and on Saturday 4-H’ers need to share their favorite activity or fair project. Savage mentions that there will be a pizza party provided by the Extension Office for the club that has the most participation, so they’re looking for as many people to participate as possible.
