Rodolph H. Compton, known as Dolph, 99, of Guthrie Center. Funeral services will be 10:30 A.M., Friday, October 6, 2023 at the Twigg Funeral Home, Guthrie Center. Burial will be in Union Cemetery, Guthrie Center with military rites conducted by the Omar B. Shearer VFW Post #124, Guthrie Center, Iowa. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dolph’s memory to the Omar B. Shearer VFW Post #124, Guthrie Center, Iowa, an organization in which Dolph was a lifetime member.
Survivors include his children, Kenneth (Cheryl) Compton of Peoria, AZ; Michael (Rita) Compton of Jefferson; and Christie (Tim) Flickinger of Des Moines; grandchildren, Wyatt (Stacee) Compton, Lindsay (Jason) Lewis, Zachary (Maria) Flickinger, Anna Flickinger, James Flickinger, and Chris (Kelli) Compton; great-grandchildren, Genevra and Haxton Compton, and Charlotte and Isabella Compton; and Dolph’s sisters, Marian Smith of Little Rock, AR and JoAnn Lydon of Greenfield. Dolph was preceded in death by his parents, 1st wife Flora Belle, 2nd wife, Claire, and siblings Ted, Perry, Steve, Viola, and Ann.
