
The varsity sports calendar for today and tonight has Greene County cross-country and Paton-Churdan volleyball. Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s harriers are in the Leon Fox Invitational hosted by Perry at the golf course north of town. P-C hosts Glidden-Ralston in Rolling Valley Activities Conference volleyball in Churdan.
This is the first week of the cross-country season the Rams have had two meets in three days. They ran at Tuesday’s Ogden Invitational. The Perry meet is among the larger ones the Rams run in competition is expected to be strong. Junior Noah Hinote, a 2022 State Meet qualifier, has been the boys’ team leader throughout this season. Greene County has just three girls out for the sport with Ava Minnehan occupying the top spot on the team in most meets.
Paton-Churdan’s volleyball team continues its search for the first win. The Rockets are 0-7 in matches and 0-21 in sets.
The Greene County volleyball team has a nine day break between matches. The Rams last played on Sept. 21 at Roland-Story, and they don’t play until this Saturday at the Ram Invitational in Jefferson. The tournament starts at 9 a.m. on Sept. 30 inside the Greene County High School gym in Jefferson.
