
Tuesday, September 26th
7:46am: An officer arrested Alicia Marie Hawkins, 33 of Jefferson, at 501 South Chestnut Street. Hawkins had an Outstanding Arrest Warrant for, “Fail to Appear.” The original charge was, “Possession of Controlled Substance.” During the arrest and a pat down, the officer located suspected narcotics in Hawkin’s pockets and seized them for evidence and testing.
11:07am: Home State Bank reported Suspicious Activity at 115 West State Street. The bank employee provided information to the officer.
2:30pm: Hy Vee reported a Theft occurring at 106 West Washington Street. The officer is investigating.
3:41pm: An officer assisted the GC Ambulance with a Medical Call in the 700 Block of North Cedar Street.
4:25pm: Lesa Hager reported a vehicle playing Loud Music near the 100 Block of Russell Street. The officer did not locate the vehicle.
5:46pm: Bryant Margetta soke with an officer concerning issues his child was having during lunch periods at the school. The officer advised him to bring it to the attention of school officials and allow them to take corrective steps.
6:06pm: Dan Calvert reported a tree was cut down in the 300 Block of South Cedar Street, and was partially in the roadway.
9:12pm: An officer began an Investigation into a Hit & Run Accident, which occurred at 777 Wild Rose Lane. The officer is investigating.
9:48pm: A caller advised a juvenile was at 208 West Lincoln Way Street, and was trying to get home. Family members arrived as the officer did to pick the subject up.
10:06pm: A caller reported a Careless Driver on 220th Street, heading east into Jefferson. The officer located the vehicle and spoke to the driver about the complaint.
11:02pm: A caller advised of a possible Domestic Situation occurring in the 300 block of West Reed Street. The officer arrived and met with an intoxicated father and daughter. The officer determined that an argument was not occurring and advised the subjects to go inside.
Wednesday, September 27th
12:03am: An officer arrested Jay D. Wenger, 35 of Scranton at 304 West Reed Street. Wenger had an Outstanding Boone County Arrest Warrant for, “Probation Violation.”
8:45am: A GCSD Bus Driver reported a School Bus Violation to an officer. The infraction occurred in the 1500 Block of Westwood Drive. The officer’s investigation led to Sadie Shannon of Jefferson being cited for, “Unlawful Passing of School Bus.”
12:00pm: Melinda Gallagher reported catching a Stray Dog in the 700 Block of South Vine Street. She met the officer at the holding facility, where the officer placed the animal inside.
1:45pm: Jennifer Schiltz reported an Abandoned Bicycle lying beside the head of the bike trail. The officer placed the bike in Impound.
2:10pm: Raquel Baugh reported the Theft of clothing from 301 West Reed Street. The officer has received video of the event and is investigating. The clothing is valued at $100.00.
4:44pm: Ron Pike reported he was outside of his residence at 203 South West Street, when two juveniles rode by and yelled insulting things at him. The officer is investigating.
8:07pm: A Traffic Stop was performed with a vehicle near Elm and Clark Streets. During the stop, the officer smelled marijuana emitting from the vehicle. During a Probable Cause Search, the officer located smoking devices and marijuana. The items were seized for testing. Charges are pending the test results.
9:21pm: An officer performed a Traffic Stop on a vehicle near Maple and West Streets. Two occupants were in the vehicle. In speaking with the driver, the officer noticed clues of Impairment and requested the male out of the car. As the officer spoke with the driver at the rear of the vehicle, he heard glass shatter back at the passenger’s side of the vehicle. The female passenger had thrown glass pipes to the ground, shattering them. The officers were assisted by a deputy in a Probable Cause Search of the vehicle. Numerous items of paraphernalia and narcotics were located in the vehicle. Audrie Leiann Lawrence, 23 of Jefferson, was arrested for, “Possession of Controlled Substance/Meth – Serious, Possession of Controlled Substance/Marijuana – Serious and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple.” Christopher Herbert Lawrence, 43 of Jefferson was arrested for, “OWI 1st Offense – Serious, Possession of Controlled Substance 3rd or Subsequent – D Felony, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia – Simple, and Driving While Suspended – Simple.”
