The Jayettes hit the volleyball court last night in the Saydel Volleyball Tournament. Perry went 2-1 in the tournament as they fell to Clarke 2-0, defeated Ogden 2-0, and defeated Des Moines North 2-1. In the loss to the Clarke Indians, Perry lost both sets 21-13 and 21-12. Junior Miley Sanchez  had 1.5 kills on the night. The Jayettes then won their first set against Ogden 21-12 giving them a 1-0 lead in the match overall. They just snuck out the second set, 21-18, giving them the 2-0 victory. Lastly, in their last matchup of the evening against Des Moines North, Perry won their first set 21-14. Des Moines North responded as they were able to come away with the win in set #2, 21-18. But Perry would end up finishing the deal, winning 16-14 in the tie breaker, to secure the win for Perry. Maci Tunick had 2.3 kills on the night for the Jayettes.

With the 2-1 outing in the Saydel tournament, Perry currently stands at 7-18 overall in the Heart of Iowa standings, and 1-3 in conference play. They will next head to Saydel on Monday, October 2nd to take on the Eagles. The match will start at 6:30. I will provide updates as we get closer right here on KDLS and on raccoonvalleyradio.com.
