Last week was scheduled to be a two-meet week for cross-country runners at Greene County HIgh School. That changed when heavy rain and thunderstorms last Tuesday cancelled the West Marshall Invitational near State Center. The Rams ran in Story City at the Roland-Story Norsemen Invitational on Thursday, then picked up a meet in Ogden this Tuesday to go with the already scheduled Sept. 28 action north of Perry at the golf course there.
The Greene County boys are having a successful season with middle of the pack or higher finishes in every meet so far. A relatively young squad is led by junior Noah Hinote, a 2022 State Meet qualifier in Class 2A. The Rams move up to 3A for the postseason this year and Hinote has returning to State as a personal goal. Freshman Brady Christensen, junior Gavyn Winters, sophomore Carter Hinote, and senior Kolby Angell have consistently been the two through five runners for the Rams.
