The Jayettes were last on the volleyball court on Thursday night as they took on the South Hamilton Hawks at home in the Perry High School gym. The Jayettes fell to South Hamilton by a score of 3-2. Perry won the first set by a score of 25-22 to take a 1-0 lead in the match. The Hawks and Jayettes then went back in forth in set number 2. South Hamilton ended up pulling the second set out to tie things up at 1 a piece. Perry then took the 3rd set by a score of 25-18 to go ahead 2-1. The Jayettes would then drop their last two sets against the Hawks inevitably leading to their 3-2 defeat. Senior Maci Tunick led the Jayettes in kills on the night with 2.6. Gabi Orellana had 20 assists as well for Perry as she led the Jayettes in that department.
It was a hard fought battle by Perry, unfortunately they fell just a little short. They will be back in action tonight in the Saydel Varsity Tournament at Saydel High School.
