On Friday September 19, the Panorama Panthers took on Southwest Valley, the Panorama team delivered an impressive performance characterized by strong, physical football. The game was a display of Panoramas football team finding their stride by finishing with an dominant win over the Timberwolves, 49-15.
The Panorama team, under the leadership of senior quarterback Cayden VanMeer, wasted no time in putting points on the board. VanMeer’s performance was nothing short of impressive, completing 18 of 24 passes for 237 yards and three touchdowns. His precision in the passing game showed his ability to be an accurate quarterback.
While the passing game was a highlight for the Panthers in its own way, so was Panorama’s performance on the ground. Senior running back Ryan Cogil totaled 95 rushing yards and scoring a touchdown. Also, Cogil had an impact as a versatile receiver with 20 receptions for another touchdown, furthering the team’s success.
The receiving corps, was led by senior Klayton Bremer. Bremer’s nine receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown kept the offensive momentum rolling. He had a consistent performance as a receiver giving his team an extra weapon during the night, and his addition to the Panthers defense also couldn’t be overlooked.
On the defensive side of the ball, Klayton Bremer’s impact extended beyond his role as a receiver. He led the team in total tackles with 5.0 tackles. His ability to read the game, make stops, and disrupt the opposing team’s plays.
Panorama’s journey to Southwest Valley showed that they can be a physical team. The final score of the game was certainly in Panorama’s favor, but it was the manner in which they achieved it that left a lasting impression. Their strong, physical football style was not just a strategy; it was a reflection of their identity as a team that the Panthers have known that they are, and able to show their fans.
