The AC/GC Chargers cross country teams were in action last Thursday, as they hosted meets during Homecoming week.
The boys team came out on top in their meet, with senior Andrew Mahaffey taking 1st place with a time of 17 minutes 32 seconds, and junior Gavin Sloss grabbing 2nd place with a time of 18 minutes 15.3 seconds. Senior Lance Bunde snagged 5th place in 18 minutes 29 seconds, while junior Noah Kading finished 7th in 18 minutes 44 seconds, and senior Bo Arrasmith secured 9th in 18 minutes 48 seconds. Freshman Preston Kent finished in 18 minutes 51 seconds to take 10th place, and sophomore Tate Fever came in 17th with a time of 19 minutes 24.4 seconds. The team had a combined time of 1 hour 31 minutes 48.3 seconds.
The girls team was also able to secure the home victory, with junior Ava Campbell leading the way with a 3rd place performance of 21 minutes 3.2 seconds, and fellow junior Adalyn Benson finished 8th in 22 minutes 44 seconds. Freshman Cadence Peterson finished in 22 minutes 49.3 seconds for a 10th place finish, with senior Hayden Coffman right behind her in 11th with a time of 22 minutes 56.8 seconds, and with a time of 24 minutes 58.1 seconds, senior Emmerson Van Meter finished in 26th. Junior Paige Van Meter finished in 29th with a time of 25 minutes 15.9 seconds, while junior Emmarae Ellis finished 36th with a time of 27 minutes 7.8 seconds. The team had a combined time of 1 hour 54 minutes 31.4 seconds.
