The Homecoming football game for the Greene County Rams is at 7 o’clock tonight at Linduska Field in Jefferson vs. the Knights of Kuemper Catholic (Carroll). Both teams are highly regarded in Class 2A and both handily won their District 8 openers on the road last week with the Knights winning at Roland-Story in Story City and the Rams winning in Des Moines vs. Saydel. Coverage on KG98 and streaming on www.raccoonvalleyradio.com starts at 6:30 p.m.

Coach Jeff Lamoureux’s cross-country runners were in action at Story City last night for the Norsemen Invitational. The boys finished sixth among 11 teams and the girls do not have enough runners for a team score. Nevada won the team title for boys with 51 points and the Rams had 155.

Noah Hinote led the Greene County boys with a 151h place finish in 18:06. Gavyn Winters was 15th in 18:13, followed by Brady Christensen, 24th in 18:36, Kolby Angell, 40th in 19:35, and Eli Carstensen, 65th in 21:51. The Rams were without normal number four runner Carter Hinote.

The Rams had three female runners and were led by Ava Minnehan, 30th in 23:25. Becca Anderson covered the five kilometers in 23:45, good for 37th place, and Evelyn Snyder was 60th in 27:46.

Greene County added the Sept. 26 Ogden Coed Invitational to its schedule after having the West Marshall meet weathered out earlier this week.
