The candidate list for the upcoming mayoral, city council and school board elections has been released in Greene County.

According to the Greene County Auditor’s Office, there are two contested city councils and one contested mayoral race. The City of Jefferson has two seats open and four people are running. The incumbent is Matt Wetrich and is seeking re-election, followed by three newcomers, including Susan Bose, Chad Sloan and Trevor Wishman. The other incumbent is Dave Sloan who is not seeking re-election. There is only one candidate for Jefferson mayor and that is the former mayor Craig Berry.

The other contested city council race is Paton City Council with five candidates for three seats and Scranton City Council with four candidates for three seats. The contested race for Rippey mayor is with the incumbent Dan Brubaker against newcomer Malachi Meri. 

As for school board, according to Greene County School Board Secretary Laura Marshall, there are two seats open with three candidates. Those individuals include Tim Riphagen, Connie Boyd, and Dylan McConnell. Current board members Steve Fisher and John McConnell are not seeking re-election. Paton-Churdan School Board Secretary Heather Lansman says there are two seats open and the two incumbents, Dave Palmer and Kelly Minnihan, are running for re-election.

County Auditor Billie Jo Hoskins says both Greene County and Paton-Churdan School Districts have until today to turn in their respective candidates. Check the full list below for the mayoral and city council candidates in Greene County below. The election will be held on November 7th.
